What's Going To Happen?

I'm reading a book to my own kids called "The Landry News" by Andrew Clements. The book is about a girl named Cara who writes a newspaper article about her teacher. Cara is pretty upset that her teacher does nothing all day but read the newspaper and drink cold coffee. We are only about a third of the way finished, but I predict that by the end of the story, her teacher will change his ways. I think he's going to become a great teacher by the end.

What books are you in the middle of reading? What predictions do you have for how the story will end or how the characters will change?

Blueberries for Sal By Robert McCloskey

The main character is Sal. He is a little boy who likes to eat blueberries and likes to pick them. He didn't stay with his mother so he had to find his mother. He found mother bear instead. Mother bear left and he found his own mom again.

My Mama Says There Arent't Any Zombies, Ghosts, Vampires, Creatures, Demons, Monsters, Friends, Goblins Or Things By Judith Viorst

I think the boy thinks that a dragon is under his bed and when he wakes up in the morning the dragon will eat him. I think this beacause the book is about scary things and he is always thinking something is going to get him.

Henry and Mudge In The Sparkle Days by Cynthia Rylant

I like the snow and I got all wet and cold playing in the snow just like Henry and Mudge.
I am like Henry because I always dress fancy for Christmas dinner and it is a family tradition just like his family.

Cam Jansen The Mystery Of The Stolen Diamonds by David A. Adler

I would like to have Cam as my friend. She has a photographic memory and I would like to help her solve mysteries. I liked how she said "Click" and remembered everything that happened.

Odd Velvet by Mary E. Whitcomb

Velvet didn't do things that the other kids did. I learned that people should treat everyone the same and not make fun of other people. The kids had a great time at Velvet's birthday party playing in the castle, having their faces painted and wearing their crowns.

Amelia Badelia and the Surprise Shower by Peggy Parish

I would advise Ameilia Bedelia that sometimes what you hear people say may mean something different. Icing a fish means putting it in the freezer not putting cake icing on the fish. People may become angry when you do certain things like giving a surprise shower with the garden hose.
